Empowering Individual & Relational Changes

Why Seek Therapy?

There are many reasons people seek therapy.  Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out support when you need it.  Sometimes it is to deal with unexpected changes in one's life such as the break up of a relationship, divorce, or other life or work transitions.  Often it is to deal with longer standing psychological issues, or problems with depression and/or anxiety.  Many people seek the advice of a therapist to pursue their own personal exploration or growth.

Therapy can help address many types of issues including conflict, grief, stress management, work and career management. Therapy is right for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of their life by taking responsibility, creating greater self awareness, learning new skills, and working towards change in their lives.

Do I really need therapy?

Although no one escapes challenging situations in life, therapy is for people who have enough self awareness to realize they could use some extra support. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you are in life and making a commitment to yourself (and perhaps to others) to change the situation by seeking therapy.  Therapy provides long lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, redirect damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

Some of the benefits available from therapy include:

  • Developing skills to improve your relationships
  • Finding resolution to the issues or concerns that led you to seek therapy
  • Learning new ways to solve problems and enhanced coping strategies
  • Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones
  • Improving your self esteem and boosting self confidence
  • Attaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals and your values.
  • Managing anger, grief, depression and other emotion issues.
